This impressive villa in Barneveld, designed by BOXXS i and Boxxis Architecten, shows a rare balance between opposites: tranquillity and sensation, masculine and feminine, cool and warm. This balance is seen not only in the interior, but also in the garden, designed by Robin Kroeze of Steengoed! hoveniers.

For the residents, the garden had to be robust and able to withstand active family life. According to the designer, this can easily be combined with an attractive appearance of the garden. The spacious plot provides ample space for children to frolic and play sports, while varying elevations and distinctive settings bring the design to life.

The garden is divided into three zones: a Mediterranean oasis with swimming pool, a bold city garden with an imposing church altar repurposed as an outdoor bar, and a spacious, child-friendly lawn for the kids. This combination makes the garden ideal for relaxation and social gatherings as well as family life.

To enhance the desired contrast while seamlessly connecting the various settings, Millboard Weathered Oak decking boards in Driftwood colour were selected. These boards offer the charm of weathered wood and have been installed on the terraces around the pool and in the city garden.
