Underlays
A well-constructed subframe of high-quality material contributes to the longevity of a deck. We therefore recommend use of the special Plas-Pro joists with our Millboard boards.
The Plas-Pro joists, pedestals and boards are made of 100% recycled plastic, so they will not rot, splinter or split. This all-weather, durable, flexible material is therefore a hard-wearing, practical solution for areas exposed to moisture, such as: garden and roof terraces, decking, jetties and swimming pools.
The advantages of Plas-Pro joists:
- The matching Durafix® stainless steel screws can be screwed into the Plas-Pro material without pre-drilling the boards.
- To fasten Plas-Pro pedestals and joists together, we recommend using the special coated hex-head screws.
• The Plas-Pro system expands much less than wood, so screws truly stay tight for years.
• Plas-Pro joists, pedestals and boards have a much longer lifespan than timber components.
Fixings
Our range of fixings is exclusive to Millboard and contributes to a perfect finish.
We recommend using Durafix® screws for affixing boards to joists. Once these special screws are fitted, the innovative Lastane coating on the board flexes back over the screw heads, completely hiding them.
To fix Plas-Pro posts and beams to each other, we recommend using the special coated hex-head screws.
Coating
Just like real wood boards, Millboard boards, fascia boards, edging boards and bullnose boards are great to work with. By touching up the end of the sawn board with the right matching coating colour, the original appearance is restored. The coating has purely aesthetic value and therefore does not need to be applied for protection on sawn parts placed out of sight.
